Environmental Impact Statement

An Environmental Impact Assessment has been carried out for the proposed scheme.
Environmentally sensitive areas in the vicinity of the proposed route were identified during the Constraints Study and Route Selection phases of the project.The proposed alignment has been selected to minimise the potential impact of the scheme by avoiding, where possible, the sensitive areas identified during the scheme evolvement.

Viewing and purchasing the EIS: Copies of the Environmental Impact Statement are available for examination at the locations detailed in the published newspaper notices as follows:

Next Steps
Construction of the Scheme is dependent on approval from An Bord Pleanála (the Board).
Written submissions relating to the environmental effects of the proposals may be made to the Board prior to the date specified in the published newspaper notices. An Bord Pleanála will hold an Oral Hearing. The written submissions, together with any representations made at the Oral Hearing, will be considered by the Board before making their decision on whether or not to approve the Scheme (with or without modifications). The Board’s decision shall be published in one or more newspapers circulating in the area. It will include, where appropriate, particulars of any modifications to the Scheme.
