Septic Tank Registration
The Department of the Environment recently published the Water Services (Amendment) Act 2012, which provides for the establishment of a registration and inspection system for all domestic wastewater treatment systems. It is expected that registration will commence in the second half of April. The registration will operate in a similar manner to the household charge registration system - forms will be made available to each local authority and there will be an online registration system also. The most up-to-date official information on this matter appears on the department's own website at http://www.environ.ie/en/Publications/Environment/Water/FileDownLoad,29428,en.pdf . As soon as the council receives further information on this matter, the public will be informed through local media and here on the councils own website.

Culture Night 2012 - Submit Your Event
This years Galway Culture Night on Friday 21st September is shaping up to be biggest yet as the celebrations extend to all over County Galway. Galway County Council are inviting groups, organisations and artists to hold an event have it included in the Culture Night Programme. Some funding for events is also available.

‘fixyourstreet’ facilitates the reporting of non emergency issues concerning street lighting, drainage, graffiti, illegal dumping, and road and footpath maintenance to Comhairle Chontae na Gaillimhe/Galway County Council.
