WEEE (Waste electrical and electronic) Collection

WEEE Ireland, the Irish compliance scheme for electrical and battery recycling, will hold a series of WEEE Collection events throughout County Galway , starting on March 24th 2012. These collection days, supported by Galway County Council, will allow people from towns and villages across the county to get rid of any household electrical equipment and batteries in a safe and environmentally friendly manner.

Launch of Environmental Information Packs
The launch of the ‘Environmental Information Pack’ and the ‘Greening Your Workplace’ leaflet series took place in the Loughrea Library on Thursday 23rd February 2012. The leaflet series was produced to further enhance environmental awareness within the County and the information in the leaflets is based on environmental issues that relate to all of us on a daily basis, issues like waste management, food waste, composting, energy conservation and water conservation - issues that as individuals we can have a positive impact on. Both packs aim to deliver information on what we can do to improve our environmental performance, either in the home or in the workplace.
