Notice of Determination in relation to the requirement for Strategic Environmental Assessment and Appropriate Assessment

Notice is hereby given, pursuant to Section 20 of the Planning and Development Act 2000, as amended, that Galway County Council proposes to make amendments to the Bearna Local Area Plan 2007-2013.

 In accordance with Section 19 and 20 of the Planning and Development Act 2000, as amended, and Article 14 of the Planning and Development (Strategic Environmental Assessment) Regulations 2004-2011, Galway County Council, having carried out screenings of the Proposed Amendment, has determined that a Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) and an Appropriate Assessment (AA) are not required in respect of the Proposed Amendment.

 ugtar fógra leis seo, de bhun Alt 20 den Acht um Pleanáil agus Forbairt 2000, mar atá leasaithe, go bhfuil sé de rún ag Comhairle Chontae na Gaillimhe, leasaithe a dhéanamh ar Phlean Ceantair Áitiúil Bhearna 2007-2013.

 De réir Alt 19 agus 20 den Acht um Pleanáil agus Forbairt 2000, mar atá leasaithe, agus Airteagal 14 de na Rialacháin Pleanála & Forbartha (Measúnú Straitéiseach Timpeallachta), 2004-2011, tá cinntiúchán déanta ag Comhairle Chontae na Gaillimhe, tar éis scagthástáil ar an Leasú Molta a bheith curtha i gcrích, nach bhfuil Measúnú Straitéiseach Timpeallachta (MST) ná Measúnú Iomchuí (MI) riachtanach i leith an Leasaithe Molta.

Galway County Council delivers savings and efficiencies of €5.25m
Galway County Council recently reported on savings of €5.25 million in the 12 month period ending the 31st March 2012. The savings consisted of €3.05 million in pay and €2.2 million in non-pay including savings made in the areas of procurement and work practice changes.

Galway County Council wishes to advise that the public consultation period in relation to the emerging Preferred Route Corridor for the R336 Bearna to Scríb via Ros an Mhíl Road Improvement Scheme has been extended by six weeks. ‘fixyourstreet’ facilitates the reporting of non emergency issues concerning street lighting, drainage, graffiti, illegal dumping, and road and footpath maintenance to Comhairle Chontae na Gaillimhe/Galway County Council. The publicly accessible website also allows citizens to monitor the response and interact with the Council on the issue reported through the system.
