Septic Tank Registration
Septic Tank Registration The Water Services (Amendment) Act 2012 provides for the introduction of a registration and inspection system for domestic wastewater treatment systems. It has been introduced to address the European Court of Justice ruling against Ireland in October 2009, and even more importantly, to protect ground and surface water quality (particularly drinking water sources) from the risks posed by malfunctioning systems.

Galway County Council recently reported on savings of €5.25 million in the 12 month period ending the 31st March 2012. Galway County Council wishes to advise that the public consultation period in relation to the emerging Preferred Route Corridor for the R336 Bearna to Scríb via Ros an Mhíl Road Improvement Scheme has been extended by six weeks. The closing date for receipt of submissions is now Friday, 28th September, 2012.

‘fixyourstreet’ facilitates the reporting of non emergency issues concerning street lighting, drainage, graffiti, illegal dumping, and road and footpath maintenance to Comhairle Chontae na Gaillimhe/Galway County Council. The publicly accessible website also allows citizens to monitor the response and interact with the Council on the issue reported through the system.
