HIGHER EDUCATION GRANTS 2010
The Higher Education Grants Scheme and application form is currently available to download. Click here for the ***Higher Education Grants Scheme 2010***. This is the Scheme relevant for the 2010/11 academic year.
The Scheme applies to students undertaking a full-time approved course in an approved institution at the following levels.
- Honours Bachelor Degree (Level 8)
- Higher or Post Graduate Diploma (Level 8)
- Masters Degree (Level 9)
- Doctoral Degree (Level 10)
Private Colleges or part-time courses do not come within the scope of the Higher Education Grants Scheme.
Students undertaking Post Leaving Certificate, Higher Certificate or Ordinary Bachelor Degree courses (Levels 5 -7) shouuld apply to Galway County/Galway City V.E.C.
How to apply for a Grant - Step by Step
1. Please read the following documents carefully and thoroughly
(a) **Higher Education Grants Scheme 2010**
(b) **Accompanying Notes for the Student Grant Application Form 2010/11**
(c) **Front Page**
2. When you are satisfied that you are eligible for a grant, download and print the **Application Form** and **Accompanying Notes** and **Form FA1/SA1** (course details).
3. Complete the form in full in conjunction with the Accompanying Notes and attach all required supporting documentation (originals and one copy). Please include a stamped addressed envelope so that we can return the original documents to you. The copy will be retained by us. If you do not submit a copy of your documents together with the originals we will assume that you do not require the original documents returned.
4. Submit the completed hard copy of the application form together with supporting documentation (see checklist on Page 16 of the **Application Form**) to:
Galway County Council, Higher Education Grants Section, County Hall, Prospect Hill, Galway.The hard copy of the application form and notes are not yet available.
