Provision of Burial Grounds
There is an ongoing programme for the provision and extension of burial grounds within available resources. Land has to be identified and trial holes made to test its suitability. The Council welcomes partnership with local communities who would undertake development works themselves with the aid of a grant from the County Council. The provision and extension of a burial ground is subject to Planning Regulations. The Council where necessary can acquire land for a burial ground by C.P.O.
Burial Plot Fees
Revised Burial Plot Fees of €726( Double Plots) and €385 (Single Plot) will come into effect from 1st January 2011. The existing fees have not changed since January 2007.Revised Burial Plot Fees for Galway City Residents (with no link to the area) for Rinville Burial Ground will be €1530 (Double Plots) and €650 ( Single Plots)
