Recycling of Waste
Many products are designed to be used more than once. Each year the quantity of household waste disposed of by local authorities is estimated at 1.3 tonnes per household. We can all help to reduce this figure through being more conscious of what we do with our waste. Following waste prevention, reduction and reuse, recycling is the next positive contribution we can make to our environment.

Bring Banks
The Council has been directly involved in the provision of 92 sites for the recycling of glass and beverage cans around the County. There is a great demand for such centres in the County and every effort will be made to ensure the widespread availability of such recycling centres. Any community which is interested in having this facility should first agree a suitable site with the Area Engineer and then contact the Environment Section requesting to be included for consideration in any expansion of the scheme.
