Other Motor Tax Services
The Motor Tax Office also issues:

Certificates of roadworthiness for commercial vehicles
Duplicate registration books / vehicle licensing certificates
Trade plates to garages / Trailer Licences
Change of ownership for vehicles registered before 1 January, 1993. Vehicles registered after this date are dealt with by the Vehicle Registration Unit, Shannon, Co Clare. (Lo-call 1890 411 412)

Driving Licences
The Motor Tax Office is responsible for the issue of learner permits (formerly provisional licences) and full driving licences. They also issue duplicate licences and exchange licences for full driving licences issued in a member state of the European Union and other “recognised States” under the Road Traffic (Licensing of drivers) Regulations 1999.
