AUDIT OF HERITAGE BOATS FOR CO. GALWAY (March 2010)
AUDIT OF HERITAGE BOATS FOR CO. GALWAY The field-work for the above audit has recorded almost 500 heritage boats from the coastline and inland waterways of Co. Galway. However, despite press advertisements in 2008 & 2009, no boats have been found in the extensive inland areas of North Galway/Tuam and in the Upper River Suck (above Ballinasloe). As the survey is now drawing to a close it is important that knowledge of any heritage boats – i.e. boats over 25 years old – in these areas, should be brought to the attention of the Heritage Officer or the survey team (contact details below): Heritage Officer Marie Mannion Heritage Officer Galway County Council County Hall Prospect Hill Co.
