Internet policy

Galway libraries provides a number of computers for public use. In our larger libraries, it is now possible to reserve a PC, online. Usage of all our PCs is subject to the following conditions:

  • The library facilities may not be used for any activity proscribed by Irish law.
  • The library facilities may not be used to gain unauthorized access to the library's computer system or any other computer system.

  • The use of floppy disks or any other portable storage medium on library computers is forbidden.
  • A maximum of two people may use a computer terminal at any one time.
  • A user may not use our facilities to engage in any tortious activity including libel or slander.
  • The internet must be reserved in advance. Reservations may be made at the library's issue desk or by telephone
  • Sessions on the internet are available for a maximum of fifty minutes. Every session commences each hour on the hour while the library is open to the public.
  • A user may book only one session in any one day.
