Control of Quarries under Section 261A of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended).

Galway County Council identified 230 possible quarry sites during the Section 261A process; please see details on Section 261A Quarry Register .
An Bord Pleanála are currently dealing with reviewed notices and substitute consent applications, further information can be found at www.pleanala.ie.
Section 261A quarry files are available to view at the Planning Office public counter during normal opening hours.
Substitute Consent Applications under Section 177E of the Planning and Development Acts 2000 to 2011.
