EU Co-financed Specific Improvement Grant Scheme
Description: Provision of grants for development and upgrading of non-national roads, i.e. regional and local roads, which are important to balanced regional development.
The National Development Plan 2000-2006 and the Regional Operational Programmes which have followed from it, provide for a continuation of an EU Co-Financed Specific Improvement Grants Scheme which will meet 100% of the approved cost to local authorities of certain individual road improvement projects. As these projects qualify for EU grant aid the projects selected must therefore satisfy EU requirements.
The Scheme Supports The Following Priorities Of The Community Support Framework:
- Balanced Regional Development
- Development of Economic Infrastructure
- Local Enterprise Development
