The Council’s Road Safety Together Committee teamed up with Anchor Safety Ltd., and a leading supermarket chain, SuperValu, in order to make Galway’s roads safer during the winter months of 2006, 2007 and 2008.

Galway Co. Council launched the sale of hundreds of High Visibility Vests to pedestrians and cyclists and other road users in County Galway .

The vests were supplied by a Galway company, Anchor Safety Ltd., Briarhill Business Park, Galway, at a discount price, and were sold in 2008 for €3.50 in participating stores.
