SUMMARY:

N17 Southbound: No works to be carried out this week.

N17 Northbound: Works are continuing on the N17 from Burke's Road towards Town and Country Garage.  2-way traffic is being maintained on the N17. 

Dublin Road: Works are taking place on the Dublin Road between the junction with Stockwell Road and Athenry Road.  There will be a lane closure in place and there will be temporary traffic lights and flagmen in operation for the duration of the works in this section.

Weir Road: Works will be taking place from the Carrigweir entrance out towards the Millstream Park entrance.  There will be a lane closure in place and there will be temporary traffic lights in operation.

Foster Place: Foster Place is currently closed from the Old Ballygaddy Road Junction to Tullinadaly Road junction. Access to the town centre from the N17 can be gained via Gilmartin Road, Church View and Tullinadaly Road. Business is operating as usual in Tuam Town Centre.  Once the works are completed to this section CCL will be closing Tullinadaly Road whilst maintaining traffic to the town centre via Ballygaddy Road, Foster Place and Shop Street.

Cemetery Fields: Works are taking place in the fields. There will be construction traffic in the area. 

Trinity Court: Works are ongoing in Trinity Court and should be completed this week.  Access for traffic will be maintained throughout the works with minimal delays.

SUMMARY:

N17 Southbound: There will be works continuing at night this week southbound from the Gilmartin Road junction towards Galway. There will be a lane closure in place and there will be temporary traffic lights and flagmen in operation from 20:00 to 06:00 hours.

N17 Northbound: Works are continuing on the N17 from Burke's Road towards Town and Country Garage.  2-way traffic is being maintained on the N17.

Shop Street: Works will commence at night this week on Shop Street to carry out trial holes and it is envisaged that it will be take 4 nights to complete.

Weir Road: Works will be taking place from the Killaloonty Road Junction out towards the Industrial Estate.  There will be a lane closure in place and there will be temporary traffic lights in operation.

Killaloonty Road: The resurfacing of the Killaloonty Road adjoining the Weir Road is planned to take place next week.  Residents will be informed of access issues towards the end of this week should the works be proceeding.

Foster Place: Foster Place is currently closed from the Old Ballygaddy Road Junction to Tullinadaly Road junction. Access to the town centre from the N17 can be gained via Gilmartin Road, Church View and Tullinadaly Road. Business is operating as usual in Tuam Town Centre.  Once the works are completed to this section CCL will be closing Tullinadaly Road whilst maintaining traffic to the town centre via Ballygaddy Road, Foster Place and Shop Street.

Date: Mon 21st February - Tues 22nd February

Coffey Construction will be commencing work on the N17, South of the Weir Road junction at 07:00am on Monday morning (21st Feb) and will be working back-to-back shifts over the 24Hr period for two days.

A stop-go system will be in place so delays will be expected.

SUMMARY:

Athenry Road: Works are taking place on the Athenry Road adjacent to Cemetery Fields. There will be a lane closure in place and there will be temporary traffic lights in operation.

Ballygaddy Road: The Ballygaddy Road is currently closed from the N17 to Foster Place. Access to the town centre from the N17 can be gained via Church View, Temple Jarlath Court and Tullinadaly Road. It is currently envisaged that the Ballygaddy Road from the N17 to beyond Glynn's entrance will be resurfaced and reopened this week.  Once the works are completed to this section CCL will be closing Foster Place whilst maintaining traffic from Tullinadaly Road to Shop Street for a period of time.

Cemetery Fields: Works are taking place in the fields. There will be construction traffic in the area.

Circular Road: Works are taking place on Circular Road with a road closure in place. This road will remain closed until approximately Friday February 16th. 

Killaloonty Road: The resurfacing of the Killaloonty Road adjoining the Weir Road is planned to take place next week.  Residents will be informed of access issues towards the end of this week should the works be proceeding.

Trinity Court: Works are ongoing and will take a number of weeks to complete.  Access for traffic will be maintained throughout the works with minimal delays.

Due to necessary works there will be a water outage on Monday the 14th February, Tuesday the 15th February and Wednesday the 16th February between the hours of 8pm and 6am in the following areas:

Works underway from Monday 24th January 2011 to Friday 28th January 2011:

Dublin Road:

Dublin Road is currently closed from the Circular Road junction to the Purcell / Stockwell Road junction. A diversion route is in place.  The Dublin Road will be resurfaced early next week with the road re-opening to traffic.  At this stage Coffey Construction Ltd will be closing Circular Road from Vicar Street to Dublin Road.

N17 and Gilmartin Rd:

Coffey Construction Ltd will be working at night on the N17 from the Gilmartin Road junction with works progressing towards Galway. Traffic lights will be in operation for the duration of the works with 2-way traffic being maintained during the day except for when resurfacing works are taking place.

Coffey Construction Ltd will be resurfacing the N17 this Tuesday (24th) and Friday (28th) between 10am and 1pm with only one lane open to traffic with flag men in place.  The single lane of traffic will be in place from 8pm this Monday evening to 1pm on Tuesday. The same will apply for Friday with the single lane coming into effect from 8pm on Thursday and remaining in place until 1pm on Friday. 

Therefore traffic disruption will be expected as the resurfacing works will be carried out during the day. This has resulted due to the temperatures at night not allowing surfacing to be laid.

Weir Road:

Works are ongoing to the Weir Road from the pumping station and working away from the Town centre.  Traffic lights will be in operation whilst the works are taking place.  Resurfacing of the Killaloonty Road is planned to be carried out this week.

The Ballygaddy Road:

The Ballygaddy Road is currently closed from the N17 to Foster Place. Access to the town centre from the N17 can be gained via Church View, Temple Jarlath Court and Tullinadaly Road. Business as usual in Tuam Town Centre.

Trinity Court:

In Trinity Court works are ongoing and will take a number of weeks to complete.  Access for traffic will be maintained throughout the works with minimal delays.

Burkes Road to Town and Counrty Garage:

Coffey Construction Ltd have commenced works on the N17 (Inbound Lane) from Burke's Road towards Town and Country Garage. 2-way traffic is being maintained on the N17.

N17/Weir Road: The road is now fully reopened for the Christmas break. The diversion down Church view has been removed.

Kilaloonty: There will be a road closure in operation. Local access only.

Foster Place: There will be a road closure in place from the junction with the N17 to the junction with the Old Road. Traffic from the N17 will be diverted down Tullinadaly Road.

Cemetery Fields: No works this week.

Bobby Burke Road: The road has been re-aligned near the N17 junction to accommodate the area of works. Traffic should flow as normal however. 


Date:   13th December-17th December 2010

SUMMARY:

Dublin Road: Pipelaying will continue this week from the junction with Vicar Street to past the junction with the Circular Road. There is a road closure in operation. Footpaths will remain open to pedestrians. Road reinstatement and reopening from the junction with Vicar Street to the junction with the Circular Road is due to take place this week subject to weather conditions.

Weir Road/N17: Works are taking place on the N17 between the Weir Road junction and the Gilmartin Road junction. Southbound traffic will be diverted from the Weir Road Junction down Church View and up Gilmartin Road. Northbound traffic will continue as normal. Flagmen will be in place. Road reinstatement is due to take place this week subject to weather conditions.

Kilaloonty: Works will continue this week in Kilaloonty. There will be a road closure in operation. Local access only. Road reinstatement and reopening is due to take place this week subject to weather conditions.

SUMMARY:

Vicar Street/Market Square: Vicar Street is closed to traffic from the Shambles carpark up to the roundabout at Market Square. Footpaths will remain open to pedestrians. The road should be re-opened on Tuesday.

Weir Road/N17: Works are taking place on the N17 between the Weir Road junction and Gilmartin Road. Southbound traffic will be diverted from the Weir Road Junction down Church View and up Gilmartin Road. Northbound traffic will continue as normal. Flagmen and temporary traffic lights are in operation.

Foster Place: There will be a road closure in place from this Tuesday from the junction with the N17 to the junction with the Old Road. Traffic from the N17 will be diverted down Tullinadaly Road.

SUMMARY:

Footpaths will remain open to pedestrians. Vicar Street is now closed to traffic from the Shambles carpark up to the roundabout with Market Square.

SUMMARY:

Vicar Street: Works will take place from the roundabout with Sean Purcell Road to the junction with Barrack Street. Footpaths will remain open to pedestrians. Temporary traffic lights will be in place.

Market Square: Pipelaying will commence on Thursday from the junction with High Street towards the junction with the Dublin Road.

Weir Road/N17: Works are taking place on the N17 between the Weir Road junction and Gilmartin Road. Southbound traffic will be diverted from the Weir Road Junction down Church View and up Gilmartin Road. Northbound traffic will continue as normal. Flagmen and temporary traffic lights are in operation.

Bellair Drive:  Road closure in operation. Local access only.

Sean Purcell Road: Works are still ongoing at the roundabout with Frank Stockwell Road and temporary traffic lights are in place.

Bobby Burke Road: Works are ongoing off the road near Bobby Burke Road.

Project Update Week Ending 27th September 2010:

 

SUMMARY:

Vicar Street: Road closure in place on Monday from the junction of Circular Road to the junction with the Dublin Road. Footpaths will remain open to pedestrians. On Tuesday there will be a road closure in place from the junction with the Purcell Stockwell Road to the junction with The Mall. Footpaths will remain open to pedestrians.

Weir Road/N17: Works are taking place on the N17 between the Weir Road junction and Gilmartin Road. Flagmen and temporary traffic lights are in operation.

Bellair Drive:  Road closure in operation. Local access only.

Sean Purcell Road: Works are still ongoing near the roundabout with The Glebe/ Frank Stockwell Road and temporary traffic lights are in place.

Cloonmore: Works are ongoing in Cloonmore & Cloontooa off the road. There will be a road crossing on the Athenry Road near the railway bridge on Tuesday night. Flagmen will be on duty for the duration of these works.

Dublin Road: Slit trenches are ongoing and there are temporary traffic lights in place.


Project Update Week Ending 17th September 2010:

SUMMARY:

Vicar Street: Road closure in place from the junction of Circular Road to the junction with the Dublin Road. Footpaths will remain open to pedestrians.

Weir Road/N17: Works still taking place on the Weir Road/N17 junction. Flagmen and temporary traffic lights are in operation.

Bellair Drive:  Road closure in operation. Local access only.

Sean Purcell Road: Works are still ongoing near the roundabout with The Glebe/ Frank Stockwell Road and flagmen are in place.

Cloonmore: Works are ongoing in Cloonmore & Cloontooa off the road. There are no traffic restrictions are in place.

Dublin Road: Slit trenches are ongoing and there are temporary traffic lights in place.


Project Update Week Ending 10th September 2010:

 

SUMMARY:

Vicar Street: Road closure in place from the junction of The Mall to the junction with Circular Road. Footpaths will remain open to pedestrians.

The Mall: now fully reopened to traffic.

Weir Road: Works still taking place on the Weir Road/N17 junction. Flagmen and temporary traffic lights are in operation.

Bellair Drive:  Road closure in operation. Local access only.

Old Ballygaddy Road: Road now fully reinstated and is open to traffic.

Sean Purcell Road: Works are still ongoing and temporary traffic lights are in place.

Cloonmore: Works are ongoing in Cloonmore & Cloontooa off the road. There are no traffic restrictions in place.

Fairgreen Heights: Slit trenches are ongoing and there are temporary traffic lights in place.

Dublin Road: Slit trenches are ongoing and there are temporary traffic lights in place. 


Project Update Week Ending 3rd September 2010:

 

SUMMARY:

Road re-instatement is almost completed on The Mall and is open to traffic again. Pipe laying has commenced on Vicar Street. There will be a road closure in place for the duration of the works on this street.

Pipe laying will continue on the Weir Road this week. Flagmen will control traffic on the N17 at the Weir Road / N 17  junction.

Road reinstatement will be taking place on the Old Ballygaddy Road this week. This road should be open to traffic by Thursday of this week. Pipelaying will commence on Bellair Drive from Tuesday this week.

Storm, sewer and broadband ducting laying will continue on Sean Purcell road this week. Road reinstatement will take place on a section of the road on Wednesday this week.

Laying of watermain will continue on the Cloonmore section this week.

Slit trenches will be dug on the Dunmore Road and the Bobby Burke Road this week.

Wall pour no.3 will be carried out at the reservoir site on Monday. There will be increased construction traffic around the Slievedarragh reservoir site on Monday.

Batching of concrete and construction of manhole chambers continued at the Sugar Factory site.

Motorists are advised that delays will be experienced on the N 17 approaches to Tuam, particularly at peak hour traffic between 9-10 am and 5-6.30 pm.


Project Update Week Ending 28th August 2010:

 

SUMMARY:

A 3-way temporary traffic light system on will be in place on the Weir road/ N 17 from Wednesday 25th August. This operation will cause some disruption to traffic.

Road re-instatement will continue on The Mall and should be completed by Wednesday. Sawpit Lane & the Mall should be open to traffic by Wednesday 25th August. Pipe laying will commence on Vicar Street on Tuesday. There will be a road closure in place for the duration of works on this street.

Pipe laying will continue on the Weir Road with the laying of a combined sewer and storm pipes.

Road reinstatement will be taking place on the Old Ballygaddy Road. This road should be open to traffic by Thursday of this week. Pipe laying will commence on Bellair Drive from Thursday this week.

Storm, sewer and broadband ducting laying will continue on Sean Purcell road. Road reinstatement will take place on a section of the road on Wednesday this week.

Laying of watermain will continue on the Cloonmore section this week.

Slit trenches will be dug on the Dunmore Road, Trinity Court & the Dublin Road this week.

Steel fixing carried out for the wall pour no.3 at the reservoir site.

Batching  of concrete and construction of manhole chambers continued at the Sugar Factory site.

The Tuam Arts festival will is also taking place this week.
