Plane

Below are five airports from which you can easily reach Galway:

There is a bus service from Galway Airport to Galway City Centre. For further information follow this link

Several companies provide a bus service from Dublin Airport to Galway: City Link, Gobus and Bus Éireann (route 20).

Bus Éireann provides a bus service from Shannon Airport to Galway (route 51).

Bus Éireann provides a bus service from Knock Airport to Galway (route 64).

City Link provides a bus service from Cork Airport to Galway.

The three main companies providing bus services from major cities to Galway are:

Be aware on your arrival at Galway City as there are 2 different bus/coach stations in Galway City: the Bus Station (Bus Éireann) on Fairgreen Road beside the Train Station and the Coach Station on Forster Street across from the Tourist Office (Gobus, Citylink and other private companies providing bus tours). Both are in the same general area of the City.


Train

If you want to travel by train, you can travel with Irish Rail and reach Galway from Dublin Heuston, Athlone, Limerick, Cork, Tralee, etc. For further information visit www.irishrail.ie.


Car

Getting around Galway



Bus

To get around the County, you might travel with Bus Éireann (www.buseireann.ie Select Timetables - Regional Service by County) or City Link www.citylink.ie.

To travel around Galway City, you have the choice between two companies: Bus Éireann (www.buseireann.ie Select Timetables - City / Town Services) or Galway City Direct (www.citydirectgalway.ie).

Be aware that there are 2 different bus/coach stations in Galway City: the Bus Station (Bus Éireann) on Fairgreen Road beside the Train Station and the Coach Station on Forster Street across from the Tourist Office (Gobus, Citylink and other private companies providing bus tours). Eyre Square is the departure or arrival for the city buses. They are all in the same general area of the City.


Train
