Social Inclusion Week 2017
Thu, 12 Oct 2017 09:37:00 BST
Social Inclusion Week for County Galway is taking place from the 16th – 22nd October 2017.
The purpose of Social Inclusion Week is to highlight and create more awareness of people who may be excluded from taking a full and active role in society and their community. This may be because they are older and vulnerable, have a disability, identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual or Transgender, live in a rural area, are a member of the Traveller community, are young, are unemployed, are from a foreign Country or for a number of other reasons. It’s also an opportunity to celebrate and promote the work that community groups are involved in.
There are over 30 events happening all around County Galway this year. The activities and events listed are just a sample of the work that groups and organisations are all involved in on a daily basis and we hope that you will join in and celebrate these exciting events.
