Draft Bye Laws, 2019

Galway County Council has prepared Draft (Segregation, Storage and Presentation of Household and Commercial Waste) Bye-Laws 2019 in accordance with Section 35 of the Waste Management Act 1996 and part VII of the Local Government Act 1994, the Local Government Act 2001 and the Local Government Act 2014, for the purpose of the proper management of waste and for the prevention or control of environmental pollution. This will require the holder of household and commercial waste to segregate, store and present that waste for collection in accordance with those bye-laws.
Any person who contravenes these bye-laws shall be guilty of an offence and will be liable to penalties.
A copy of the draft bye-laws will be on public display in County Hall, local area offices, the libraries during office hours, and the Council’s website www.galway.ie for a period of one month, commencing Friday 17th May 2019 to Friday 14th June 2019 and can be viewed free of charge. Any submissions in relation to the bye-laws may be made in writing to the Environment Section, County Hall, Prospect Hill, Galway or by email to email@example.com , before Friday 28th June 2019.
