Litter Clean–Up Campaign
NATIONAL SPRING CLEAN 2016
Galway County Council encourages people from all walks of life to take pride in their local environment and to take action against litter. The main objectives of the Litter Clean-Up Campaign are:
• To assist litter clean-ups at local level
• To heighten awareness of litter and waste issues
• To promote sustained, practical involvement in looking after the environment
Galway County Council will provide assistance to Tidy Towns Committees, Community Groups, Residents Associations or individuals who organise litter clean-ups of public areas in their community. Grants for Anti -Litter & Anti-Graffiti Awareness Initiatives 2016
Galway County Council has received a grant from the Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government to co-fund local public education and awareness initiatives against litter and graffiti.
Members of the public, both individuals and groups, are invited to propose suitable anti-litter and/or anti-graffiti projects for funding. A guidance note on the grant scheme is available below.
