AN tACHT RIALTAIS ÁITIÚIL 2001
Leis an Acht Rialtais Áitiúil 2001, leagtar amach an creat reachtúil maidir le cur i bhfeidhm an athchóirithe a samhlaíodh i Rialtas Áitiúil Níos Fearr. I gCuid 13, tugtar imlíne ar ról an Údaráis Áitiúil agus ról an Phobail Aitiúil agus tugtar imlíne i gCuid 14 ar Sheirbhís an Rialtais Áitiúil.
- Déantar tagairt in Alt 69 (g) ar an ngá atá ann uilechuimsitheacht shóisialta a chur chun cinn 'need to promote social inclusion'.
- Déantar tagairt in Alt 134 do Phlean Corparáideach a dhréachtú agus luaitear go sonrach go gcaithfear alt 69 a chur san áireamh - 134(7). In preparing its corporate plan a local authority shall take account of such policies and objectives in relation to any of its functional programmes as are set out in any other plan, statement, strategy or other document prepared by it under any other provision of this or of any other enactment and shall comply with sections 69, 71 and 129.
- "The local authority may take measures to promote the interest of the local community". "For the purpose of this…a measure or activity or a thing is deemed to promote the interests of the local community if it promotes, directly or indirectly, social inclusion or the social economic, environmental, recreational, cultural, community or general development of the administrative area of the local authority concerned." (section 66 (3) b)
