NOTICE OF COUNTY RATES HAVING BEEN MADE.

 

NOTICE is hereby given that County Rates have duly been made on property rateable thereto in the above named District.

The Annual Rate on Valuation for the ordinary expenditure of the County Health District for the Service of the year ending 31^st December, 2023 is as follows:

 

Annual rate on Valuation 70.59

 

The Rate Books are now in my custody and may be inspected by any person affected thereby at Galway County Council, Áras an Chontae, Prospect Hill, Galway between the office hours of 10am and 4pm by appointment, exclusive of Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays. The said rates will be payable from and after publication of this notice.

 

Under Section 7(1) of the Local Government (Financial Provisions) Act, 1978 any person who is aggrieved at the failure of the Rating Authority to make them an allowance under the act or who believes that they are entitled to a different allowance to that made to them, may within 2 months of the date of the making of the rate, request the Rating Authority in writing to grant the appropriate allowance. In case the request is not complied with within 28 days, the person may, within 4 months of the date of the making of the rate, apply to the District Court to have the appropriate allowance made.

 

The above rates were made on January 19^th 2023.  Any request in respect of them under Section 7(1) of the Local Government (Financial Provisions) Act 1978 must therefore be made to this Council not later than March 19^th 2023.  Any application to the District Court under the same provision must be made not later than May 19^th 2023.
