Important notice for users of online resources
On 29 March 2022, we will begin using a new computer system. From 22 March 2022 to 28 March 2022 inclusive, online resources will not be available. After that date, you will need to re-set your PIN before you can use online resources again.
We regret this inconvenience.
It is not possible to copy PINs from the existing system to the new system because the data is encrypted and both systems use a different method of encryption. For this reason, you will need to re-set your PIN before availing of online resources. You can re-set your PIN any time after 28 March 2022.
You can do this by visiting https://galway.spydus.ie and clicking on "Login". You will find the ‘Login’ link on the top right of the page. Next click on ‘Forgot your PIN’. You will be prompted for your borrower ID and surname. Your borrower ID is your library card number and is on the back of your library card beneath the barcode. It usually begins with the numbers "20016". When you click ‘Continue’, your new PIN will be e-mailed to you. If you wish, you can now log in, and change your PIN back to what it was before.
Alternatively, you can change your PIN by presenting your library card at your local library or by e-mailing info@galwaylibrary.ie.
