Galway County Council employs CCTV systems to support various public functions, such as enhancing security, ensuring public safety, and aiding in the prevention and resolution of crimes.
This policy outlines the use of CCTV cameras, which includes both video and audio recordings. It details how the Council collects, utilises, stores, and disposes of CCTV data. The policy covers cameras located at Council buildings, recycling centres, car parks, piers, plants, civic amenities, and other properties owned by the Council.
