About the arts Department

Welcome to the Galway County Council Arts Office website!

The Role of the County Arts Office is to ensure access to and participation in the Arts for all.

By working with other sections of the local authority, as well as individuals, artists, organisations, local communities and state and local agencies, our objectives are:

• To develop and implement policies and programmes to further resource the Arts in County Galway.
• To ensure access to and participation in the arts for all.
• To promote models of best practice and high standards in the arts in County Galway.
• To stimulate public interest in the arts, promote the knowledge; appreciation and best practice of the arts in the County of Galway.
• To ensure and develop the artistic life of County Galway.
