Local Enhancement Programme 2024
The Closing Date for receipt of completed applications is Tuesday 27th February 2024
Galway County Council, on behalf of the Local Community Development Committee (LCDC), invites applications for funding from non-profit community & voluntary groups within the Galway County administrative area under the Local Enhancement Programme 2024. The Local Enhancement Programme is funded by the Department of Rural and Community Development and administered by the Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) in each local authority area.
Galway County Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) will administer the following capital funding under the Programme:
- Local Enhancement Programme General Fund - €145,220: the General Fund will support groups, particularly in disadvantaged areas, to carry out necessary repairs and small capital works/improvements to their facilities, and/or to purchase equipment for community use.
- Local Enhancement Programme Women’s Fund - €30,896.17: this ringfenced funding is to support the growing number of Women’s Clubs and Groups, e.g., Women’s Sheds, Women’s Sporting Groups, and other social networks such as ICA groups, Irish Girl Guides, etc. It is intended to allocate the available funding in a relatively equal manner across all eligible groups, however, it should be noted that Women’s Groups are also entitled to apply to the General Fund.
Applicants must submit a completed Application Form and supporting documentation on or before the closing date by (a) e-mailing a signed scanned version to communitygrants@galwaycoco.ie OR (b) posting it to Community Grants, Economic, Rural and Community Development Department, Galway County Council, Áras an Chontae, Prospect Hill, Galway.
