Social Inclusion Week
What is Social Inclusion Week? The aim of Social Inclusion Week is to increase awareness and understanding of inclusion and diversity in County Galway. It is about highlighting the positive work that community and voluntary groups are doing to reduce social exclusion, social isolation and poverty. What can I do? The theme this year is ‘Staying Connected while Staying Apart’ and is about highlighting how we can stay connected and keep involved in community activities during these current times. We are asking groups to tell us how you have been ‘staying connected’ or how you plan to ‘stay connected’ within the community this year. Your application can include projects on creativity, physical and mental wellbeing, staying connected. Other ideas: Activity packs, care packs, local competitions, befriending services, online events. When? Galway County Social Inclusion Week 2020 is 19th October – 25th October. This year your social inclusion project can take place over the months of October and November. Who can apply? Applications are welcome from community and voluntary groups and not for profit organisations within County Galway. How much funding is available? Small grants of up to €400 max per project will be available. The grant can be used to cover the cost of materials, equipment or resources required for the project.
