You can join the library by visiting one of our libraries and filling out an application form.
You can join the library at any age but children under the age of 18 must obtain the permission of a parent or guardian. A parent or guardian must sign the child’s application form. Parents/guardians are responsible for their children while they are in the library. They are also responsible for their children’s selections and their use of library services and materials.
When joining the library or when granting permission to allow a ward to join the library, you must provide a form of photo identification and proof of address.
Photo identification can include a passport, driving licence or student card. Proof of address can include a recent bill, a letter addressed to you, or a letter from your landlord. Electronic forms of bills or bank statements are also acceptable but must be shown to a staff member.
You may also join online.
You will be able to reserve items immediately, however you will not be able to borrow items or use the Internet facilities until you collect your library card. You can collect your library card at any branch. When collecting your library card, you will need to provide a form of photo identification and proof of address. Photo identification can include a passport, driving licences or student card. Proof of address can include a recent bill, a letter addressed to you, or a letter from your landlord.
If you are under 18 years of age, you will need a form signed by your parent or guardian granting you their permission to use the library's facilities. This form must be signed at the library.
